Initial troubleshooting steps

1. Make sure the cable clicks firmly into the computer and the wall jack.
2. Try a different Ethernet cable if one is available.
3. Test another wall jack or port if you are authorized to do so.
4. Restart the computer and check the connection again.
5. If the issue is in a managed office or school, report it to IT rather than adjusting wiring.
